Year Published: 2019

Summary

This study investigates the inorganic composition of e-liquids used in vapor products, including e-cigarettes, using instrumental nuclear activation analysis. The results show that more than 20 elements were determined at trace/ultra-trace levels, including toxic elements such as as, Ni, and Sb. Based on transfer rate data, an evaluation of inhaled element amount during a single vape is also reported. The study highlights the need for further research on the potential health effects of these elements in e-cigarette aerosols.
