Trends in Use and Perceptions of Nicotine Vaping among US Youth From 2017 to 2020.

Summary

The study found that there was a significant increase in nicotine vaping prevalence among US youth from 2017 to 2019. however, the study also notes that there was a decrease in vaping prevalence from 2019 to 2020. The study suggests that this decrease may be due to the FDa's actions in removing flavored disposable e-cigarettes and youth-appealing e-liquids from the market, as announced in July 2020. The FDa's press release stated that companies, including Puff Bar, were required to remove these products from the market because they did not have the necessary authorization. This is in line with the US Census Bureau's data from October 2019, which showed a rise in e-cigarette sales in the United States, highlighting the need for regulation to control the youth vaping epidemic.
